Head of Marketing & Event Operations
About The Role
We are looking for a bright, organised and creative individual to take the lead on marketing, sales and event operations for Benk + Bo. This is an exciting time for the business as we move into our second year - this role provides a real opportunity for input, ownership and personal development within the company. The role sits broadly across Benk + Bo and will be responsible for sales and marketing strategy and its implementation in events, catering, co-working, space hire and the cafe. This is a new role within the company so we are looking for someone who has the confidence to come on board, develop company strategy and shape their own role around this.
The role is incredibly varied and therefore we are looking for someone with a broad range of experience and a previous track record of success - ideally from a marketing or events background. We are looking for someone with bags of enthusiasm and who is looking to get stuck into this role in what is a really exciting time for the business.
The main elements of the role are as follows but this is by no means an exhaustive list, we would love a potential candidate to bring additional ideas and goals to the position.
Leading and developing the direction of Benk + Bo’s marketing strategy for all facets of the business - Events, catering, space hire, co-working, yoga studio, cafe.
Working across the business with all heads of department and team members to facilitate internal communication in relation to marketing plans and opportunities.
Managing, curating and overseeing Benk + Bo’s marketing activity; be it a newsletter showcasing all the amazing things are members get up to or website content.
Actively seeking out new business opportunities and bookings through tailored outreach and offerings.
Working on brand partnerships and special projects.
Event Planning & Organisation
Working with the Events Manager to pitch, plan and organise amazing in-house and external events.
Responsible for curating an in-house event calendar and co-ordinating the involvement and skills of other departments within this.
Managing all elements of event organisation from staffing to suppliers.
Increasing departmental efficiency & communication through system implementation.
About Benk + Bo
Benk + Bo is a project brought about by a love of community and hosting. Within our 3 floor Brutalist building in Spitalfields we have a cafe serving specialist coffee and fresh vegetarian food, a yoga studio, shared workspaces and members areas, a meeting room, piano practice room and facilities for events, supper clubs, classes and photo shoots. As the business grows we are keen to focus more energy on the catering, events and co-working sides of the business and we are looking for someone to help us do this.
What We’re Looking For:
A creative thinker, customer focused and bursting with ideas.
Possesses the ability to think on their feet and independently problem solve.
A candidate who ideally has experience and a proven track record in marketing, developing promotional strategies and/or events.
Experience managing staff members - as the head of department you will be responsible for motivating, managing and organising the rest of the events team and working with department managers to reach our strategic goals.
Methodical, organised and systematic.
A positive attitude, a team player, someone who will go above and beyond and loves getting stuck in.
