Reiki Meditation Workshop

A DEEPER EARTH CONNECTION

My Reiki meditation workshops hold space for you to access your own natural energy systems in order to direct healing to places you need it most. In this session, we will be placing our attention on the root chakra, also known as the 1st energy centre. This chakra is closest to the ground and therefore most connected to earth. However as the nights are still long and the weather is cold, we tend to spend a lot of time in our heads daydreaming of a better, warmer and lighter life. Having a busy brain can sometimes leave us feeling disconnected from our bodies and give us a sense of being ungrounded. I believe it’s important that we find our center and drop into the now, taking this moment right here to make it sacred. In this workshop, we will strengthen our connection to the earth while tapping into our body's innate healing systems to provide emotional support and bring balance and harmony throughout.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The session will start with an opening circle and a short introduction to Reiki. We will then spend some time connecting to energy centers to cleanse and clear any energetic blockages. You will then have an opportunity to journal any insights you may have gained from this deep energetic connection. Softly we will move into a guided journey meditation with our main focus being to reconnect with the earth and her deep healing wisdom.

WHO IS THIS FOR

This workshop is for those who are seeking more connection with themselves and their bodies. It’s also a great opportunity to take a step back, relax and get off the work train in order to bring clarity and calm throughout.

WHO WILL BE HOLDING THE SPACE

Emma is Reiki practitioner and master space holder. She works intuitively to create healing environments that encourage people to be themselves and tap into their own own unique magic. She combines her knowledge of energy healing and the natural environment to provide grounding and nourishing workshops that empower and ignite.

KIND WORDS

“I was fortunate enough to attend the curious and co reiki and meditation workshop at Camp VC 2018 and I can honestly say it was one of the most powerful experiences of the summer. Previous to this I had only encountered meditation as a brief exercise in a yoga class and didn't really know anything about reiki so was a little nervous and unsure what to expect. I need not have worried as Emma created a warm and inviting space and soon put us all at ease. During the workshop we were invited to let go of limiting beliefs and set goals or intentions for the future. I left the workshop feeling very relaxed and much lighter as if a weight of anxiety had lifted. I spoke to a few of the other ladies who attended and everyone seemed very calm and happy too. I would definitely recommend Emma's workshops and hope to attend another one soon" - Theresa

Restorative Yoga: An immersive practice to nourish the hips and heart
Feb
17
11:00 AM11:00

Restorative Yoga: An immersive practice to nourish the hips and heart

Restorative yoga is a style of yoga that invites stillness to mind, rest and deep rejuvenation to body.  It’s a therapeutic and relaxing practise that rebalances the nervous system and invites renewal to organs.  Different from more active styles, this workshop concentrates on surrendering our weight to supports and softening into the stretches. This helps us to relieve the effects of negative stress encountered in daily life, and can be highly beneficial in times of fatigue, illness, emotional strain and the constant stresses of modern living. Our focus will be to calm and nurture ourselves on all levels. The conscious relaxation techniques taught can be used outside of yoga as well, encouraging us to take our practice off the mat and into our lives. These workshops are suitable for all from no yoga experience to expert, to those with injuries.  Prenatal participants are encouraged and catered for.

What to expect:
An integrated workshop offering multi-dimensional practises including Somatic movement - gentle, slow and mindful movement that focuses on the internal experience of the body as a way of reconnecting and re-aligning the mind and body through the nervous system.  Yin yoga poses that safely stretches deep connective tissue to release physical tension and any emotional blockages to free up the heart and re-balance the hips.  Five elements healing of Sacral and heart chakras through soundscape experience.  And of course, not forgetting the deeply blissful practise of restorative yoga.  Benk + Bo also offers Chromotherapy aka colour therapy – it’s the use of colour to adjust body vibrations to frequencies that moves us into more harmonious balance.

Who is it for?
The beauty of restorative yoga is that anyone can practise it. And everyone can benefit from old/young, mobile/sedentary, fit/injured, women/men. If you're too active - restorative yoga can calm and soothe you.  If you're feeling run-down or lethargic - it'll help rejuvenate you. Or whether you’re experiencing acute conditions or recovering from chronic ailments – restorative yoga aids in boosting immune system, circulation and organ functioning.

About Ling:

Once suited and booted, Ling swapped her corporate life over a decade ago for barefoot and lycra and have been teaching yoga and offering workshops, retreats at home and abroad.  She is also a teacher trainer and shares her time as a yoga teacher/trainer and being an integrated therapeutic massage therapist.  Ling is passionate in sharing all facets of yoga with others and helping people find freedom in their bodies, helping them move in the direction of better health and greater balance.

Kind words:

“Your Restorative yoga workshop was fantastic: the quiet atmosphere you create, the love and knowledge you bring into your teaching and the deep resonance from the singing bowls makes it all a fantastic experience.”  ~ Thea M.

"Ling's gentle and skilful teaching practice facilitated a very mindful and deep experience of restorative yoga that is really enriching and nurturing." ~ Lorraine, F. Yoga Retreat, Spain

The Compass of Self
Feb

6:00 PM18:00

The Compass of Self

As we enter a new exciting year we want to make sure that we are setting ourselves up for smooth success. I am a big believer in the power of manifestation, and the impact it can have on ones life.

In this workshop we'll practice Yoga Asana to ease up our bodies and minds. When we breathe and create space within, we can observe our thoughts more clearly. And when the stillness is there, movement shows up imminently. Along with yoga, we'll also explore guided meditation: Dharana, focus. The second part of the workshop will be journaling exercises. This is where we learn what manifestation is, how to manifest and the many ways of performing it. We will work with intention setting and explore some interesting questions and thoughts, along take-away home exercises for you to continue the exploration at home and through life.

Always remember that the four corners of your mat is a safe and sacred space for you to unfold your desires and feelings. This event is perfect for you who want to dream big and and embrace all life's different chapters. It's for you who arent afraid of exploring the corners of your mind and reaching to your full potential.

Join me and learn how to explore navigate and explore your compass within. This is only the beginning!

You can read my previous blogpost about the subject here.

A RECIPE FOR SELF LOVE W/ KEELEY DANN

A RECIPE FOR SELF LOVE W/ KEELEY DANN

What would it look like to start 2019 totally feeling yourself?

To show up to the world with..

  • The inner confidence to be yourself

  • The self-trust to be everything you already are without worrying what others think

  • The knowing you are worthy, wonderful and more than anything loveable

  • To feel sexy, sassy and in love with your body

Well lovely lady what better way to start the New Year, than with a commitment to start loving yourself!

Does this sound like you...

You often put yourself down, struggle with negative self talk, dislike things about yourself/your body, find it hard to receive a compliment, or are always trying to please others and worry about what people might think of you...Oh and rarely prioritise yourself?

Well, I've been there, done that and got the T-shirt. I spent many years self loathing and trying to desperately fit in and be liked, after years of being bullied. I know what it feels like to dislike yourself and feel like you are not good enough, to question whether it's you in your relationship, to say yes when you want to say no to fit in, to feel inadequate and to ultimately not have a sense of self worth. I bullied myself for many years and let my negative self talk and sabotaging behaviour hinder my life, work and relationships. I finally realised that if I wanted to have a loving relationship and if I wanted people to respect and value me, I had to first do this to myself. I decided to ditch the self loathing and start some self loving and guess what, I changed my life and relationship in the process.

'The most important relationship we will ever have is the one we have with ourselves'

In order to have healthy loving relationships with others we must first have this with ourselves. It is up to you to love yourself, because you set the bar for how others will show up towards you. But how do you do this I hear you ask....Well this is what my Recipe for Self-Love Workshop Brunch will teach you; Just how to start loving and nurturing yourself, so you can show up to the world as the wonderful, worthy woman you are, totally believing it. The key to living your best life lady, really is through loving yourself first.

This Workshop Brunch will give you the exact tools you need to head into 2019 doing more loving and less loathing and feeling more confident within.

It's time to ditch that inner critic and start showing up as the Worthy Woman you are!

THE EVENT

This is going to be a day of female empowerment at its finest. We will begin with a Coaching Workshop/Talk, where I will open up about my own experience and give you the exact ingredients I use myself and with my clients, to help them move past those feelings of 'not enough', into feeling more confident and connected to themselves. After this 75 minute Coaching Workshop, we will then move, love and appreciate our bodies as we Dance to the sassy tunes of the worlds biggest diva Beyonce. My Sassy, Sexy style will teach you how to move your body in an empowering way, making you feel like Queen Bey herself. This will be a heels Workshop, (because we feel so much sexier when we have a fabulous shoe on our feet) but don't worry of you've never danced in heels before because I will break down the moves in a simplistic way, so you grasp them, have fun and feel FABULOUS!

Once we've finished both workshops, we'll then head downstairs to have a lovely, delicious, lunch altogether, so we can chat and make new friendships. There is something so powerful when a group of likeminded women come together and it's my fave thing, chatting and connecting with you personally. This is your chance to feel inspired, motivated and empowered by each other as well as the opportunity to build new friendships. To top it off you'll also receive a fabulous Self-Love Goodie Bag to take home with you, to remember the day.

THE TRANSFORMATION!

This event will help you to become aware of those negative patterns that are holding you back from being your amazing self and to give you the tools needed to take on 2019 with more confidence, positivity and self trust.

I will help you let go of the limiting mindset that's holding you back, the sabotaging patterns, negative self talk and self doubt that is crippling you. If you're ready to step in to your power, to value yourself and own your worth then I can't wait to see you there

THE WASTED SUPPER

On 19th December Dinner Ladies brings you THE WASTED SUPPER, an opportunity to be part of a completely sustainable evening celebrating food & fashion. The concept is to swap for your supper at our charity supper club by bringing items from your larder or fridge you would like to clear out before the holidays. Dinner Ladies culinary collective will then put their creative skills to the test by bringing these ingredients to life and creating a meal for you to enjoy together.

Partnering with Supplycompass, a responsible platform connecting brands with the best manufacturers we are throwing in a clothes swap too. Bring along any unwanted garms and exchange for something fresh, one person’s trash is another persons treasure!

Our hosts for the evening are Benk & Bo, a creative space in the heart of East London.

Come and join us for an evening of fun, food, fashion and sustainable cocktails and show your support for the war on waste, all for the price of something pre-loved. Any leftover food and clothing will be donated to the Streets Kitchen.

Save The Children Music Event

Christmas Jumper Jam is bookable as an Airbnb Concert hosted on the Airbnb platform. The gig will be hosted as a Social Impact Experience meaning that Airbnb will waive their service fee and 100% of the proceeds from the ticket sales will go directly to Save the Children to give children here in the UK and across the world hope for a better future.

Tom will be helping to make the world better with a sweater by acoustically performing a select few tracks from his ‘Lighting Matches’ album, all whilst wearing his favourite winter woolly. He will be supported my music artists Elli Ingram and Grace Ackerman.

Guests are strongly encouraged to join Tom on the evening and wear their most novel knits. If you don’t already own a winter woolly, Save the Children will be hosting a pop-up Mary’s Living & Giving Christmas Jumper Day store on the night, which will stock a wide range of festive sweaters.

You can also pick up a jumper ahead of the gig from The Amazon Fashion UK Christmas Jumper Store. For every eligible Christmas Jumper purchased from the Christmas Jumper Store on amazon.co.uk and smile.amazon.co.uk, Amazon will donate 20% to Save the Children.

Save the Children and Selfish Mother have also joined forces again for the third year in a row, with a new series of slogan sweatshirts. The range of unisex, organic cotton sweatshirts come in black or red with festive gold slogans: PEACE, LOVE, HOPE AND JOY. They will be priced at £55 with a 50% donation to Save the Children and exclusively available to pre-order from Selfish Mother’s online shop, ‘The FMLY Store’ from 1st November.

This year, Save the Children’s annual Christmas Jumper Day is taking place on Friday 14th December. Flashing, festive knits will be sweeping the nation once again as schools, homes and offices across the country will be ditching their day-to-day dress and donning their daftest, most wonderful woollies for the annual fundraiser.

From knits festooned in jingling bells to jumpers covered in lights, shiny neon tinsel and technicoloured baubles, Save the Children is expecting over 5 million people across the UK to take part in the biggest, silliest Christmas Jumper Day ever. Whether it’s with Christmassy colleagues, sparkly school friends or just you and your merry mates, by sticking on a fabulously festive knit, signing up and donating £2 to Save the Children (£1 if you’re at school) at christmasjumperday.org, you will be helping give children hope for a better future.

transparency in fashion from fibre to fashion // private event

The new sustainable British textile producers, Bysshe Partnership and
Doppelhaus Ltd, have teamed up with Eliza Collin and a range of other
emerging fashion design talents in order to demonstrate the ideal
fashion supply chain. The group have developed a collection of diverse
garments that prove that the potential for sustainable fashion is only
limited by the creativity of the designer.

The collection will be exhibited at an exhibition at Stour Space in
Hackney from 25 February - 3 March 2019, entitled 'Transparency in
Fashion: From Fibre to Garment’. In order to generate momentum for the
upcoming event, the organizers have produced a lookbook, together with
acclaimed photographer Pascal Emmeran: the images are included as
thumbnails in the press pack attached, and can be published on request
(exclusivity negotiable). There will also be a crowdfunding campaign
launched later this week.
